The Handsome Men of Mind Hunters Options

I love "treasure hunting", i.e., finding something really "valuable" and/or exotic cheaply in an unlikely place. I bought four bottles of Frank Sinatra Shrimp Scampi Sauce at a 99Cent type store (back in the day before Sinatra died) for a couple of dollars a bottle. Of course, when Sinatra died, these items became collectibles and much more expensive. Unfortunately, I threw my Frank Sinatra Sauce away when I noticed the expiration dates on the bottles. I found this movie MindHunters in a 99Cent type store for $2.00 over the weekend.

Mindhunters is a 2004 thriller film directed by Renny Harlin and written by Wayne Kramer and Kevin Brodbin (with an uncredited rewrite by Ehren Kruger). Unusually, the last country to receive this film was the United States in 2005, because of the film's distribution rights being changed from 20th Century Fox to Dimension Films.

Christian Slater, Jonny Lee Miller or Will Kemp alone would have made MindHunters a rentable movie for me. I’m not a big fan of LL Cool J but, a lot of people find LL attractive.

I would say that the only thing more amazing than the collection of handsome men assembled in MindHunters is the fact that they are not put to much use. YOU WOULD THINK that if you gathered these kind of men together for a movie that you would have them show some skin and, generally, have an overall lack of clothing. However, only Christian Slater gets nekkid in the movie.

Christian Slater's appearance in MindHunters is rather ODD. Basically, he shows ups, gets nekkid in the shower and then goes away. Val Kilmer is also in the movie. And, I’m not sure who was the bigger star when MindHunters was made, Christian Slater or Val Kilmer.

MindHunters is about this “class” of FBI profilers who are given one final test before they “graduate”. They are sent to this remote island off the coast of one of the Carolinas for one final profiling test. As members of the group start to turn up dead, the profilers realize that one of them is a serial killer. The basic plot presents a number of the profilers being killed in rather exotic ways until “THE BIG REVEAL”. It turns out that one of the profilers joined the FBI because he was a serial killer who wanted to match wits with experts.

I just wonder how a movie with Christian Slater AND Jonny Lee Miller AND Will Kemp could have been released without my hearing about it.

I did notice the first time I saw the movie that Jonny Lee Miller was speaking with a rather exaggerated "American Accent". The thing is that the movie is about American FBI Agents and yet two of the actors are English. A reference is even made by the other agents to Will Kemp's character speaking with an English Accent (when the FBI is not suppose to allow foreigners as agents). So, I guess it would have been very odd indeed for both Kemp AND Jonny Lee to be speaking in the movie with English accents.

I DID NOT KNOW THAT. People were so focused on that Harry Potter boy being nekkid in Equus, I guess they didn’t think it important to mention that Will Kemp played the dual role of The Young Horseman and Nugget, the favoured horse of character Alan Strang, played by Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. There was some description somewhere on the net (that I can’t find again) about Kemp having to wear a wire mesh horse head, stuff on his feet and to “gallop” around with Daniel Radcliffe on his back.

"It only happened once, but my horseman Will Kemp had me on his shoulders, and he was supposed to run and jump off a block," Radcliffe recalled. "But he missed his footing, and instead of hitting here, he hit there, and the blocks slid across the stage. The whole audience went, 'Whoa!' and I was just laughing out of pure terror. But he managed to keep me on his shoulders." MTV.com

Will Kemp played a Werewolf in Van Helsing and, there is a point where Kemp stumbles or something and, instead of it looking natural, like someone stumbling, it looked like a Dance move. That scene with Kemp was definitely one of the dumbest things in a movie with a lot of dumb stuff.
