I guess it is clear that none of us here are big fans of Sex and The City. Sex and The City is definitely for White People's consumption. However, Kim Cattrall has been in a number of impressive "works" during her long career. I'm sure Ms. Cattrall is an "dismayed" as I am that her entire career as an actress has come down to this cartoon character she plays in Sex and The City. Kim Cattrall was in Wild Palms, a mini series on TV that I like. And, Kim Cattrall was in Big Trouble in Little China. Big Trouble in Little China was recently shown on some weekend tv broadcast. Big Trouble in Little China is one of THOSE movies that has a White Bread Guy venturing into this mysterious world of Chinatown. I have to say that Big Trouble in Little China NOW does not carry the same impact at it originally did. I think Big Trouble in Little China is a template for a lot of movies that have come AFTER Big Trouble. Two movies that come immediately to mind are ( a ) Eddie Murphy's "The Golden Child"; and ( b ) Mark Wahlberg's "The Big Hit" The thing is that Golden Child and The Big Hit are better movies. Notes: 1. I think it is clear that Kurt Russel's performance in Big Trouble is one big John Wayne imitation. However, you have to wonder what kids who are not all that familiar with John Wayne think of Russel's performance. 2. I didn't know that Big Trouble was a John Carpenter movie. -------------------- Marion Paige
